About The Show

KaiBan is a Sunny Lu William’s passion project born out of the love for Chinese culture and language – the desire to make Chinese language learning more accessible and culturally relevant to American children.

“There is more creative energy to form into teaching our children the beauty of difference.

All of my life, I’ve felt displaced…too American when visiting Taiwan and too other in the US.

My youngest son is half Chinese and half White. He will also have his own journey in navigating race, identity, and being a person that reaches for kindness first.

Kaiban is not a lecture about Chinese etiquette.

It is about teaching culture and language to young children to celebrate our differences and creating inclusion.”
